General & Professional Liability Insurance TeachingNursing/Allied Health General & Professional Liability Insurance for CSU Students in practicum training for an academic degree in Teaching and Nursing/Allied Health educational programs of the CSU at all its campuses. Lloyd’s London The insurance has been underwritten by Lloyd’s London since July 1, 2006, with coverage retroactive to August 1, 2003. Student Professional Liability Insurance Program

Page 4 Why was SPLIP created? SPLIP was established to: General & Professional Liability Insurance provide General & Professional Liability Insurance Medical Malpractice Liability including Medical Malpractice Liability California State University students for California State University students required internship work who are completing required internship work for academic credit. Prior to SPLIP, campuses and students obtained coverage at higher cost through individual placements. While some potential claim incidents have been reported, the program remains loss free.

Page 5 Who’s Covered by SPLIP? 1.All Students of the CSU participating in practicum training in CSU’s Nursing and Allied Health programs. 2.All Campuses of the CSU 2.All Campuses of the CSU (23 campuses). 3.All Affiliate Institutions 3.All Affiliate Institutions who have a written internship agreement with the CSU. Automatic Additional Insured Automatic Additional Insured: Any affiliate institution (Host) to whom the Named Insured (CSU) is obligated by written agreement to provide such coverage as is afforded by this policy.

Page 6 What’s Special about SPLIP? What’s Special about SPLIP? Coverage Extensions: “You” and “Your” means the Named Insured. 1.Legal Representation 1.Legal Representation: defense cost included for covered claims. 2.Personal Injury Liability 2.Personal Injury Liability: protects up to the Coverage Limits against covered claims arising from charges of privacy violation, libel, slander, assault & battery, and other alleged personal injuries. School Grievance/ Academic Disciplinary Hearings 3. School Grievance/ Academic Disciplinary Hearings: reimburses for expenses incurred for defense of a school grievance or academic disciplinary hearing or proceeding; $5,000 per proceeding; $100,000 aggregate.

Page 7 4.Damage to Property of Others 4.Damage to Property of Others: for damage caused accidentally by a Covered Party to the property of others at your location; $5,000 per incident; $100,000 aggregate. 5.Assault Coverage 5.Assault Coverage: covers your medical expenses or reimburses you for damage to your property if you are assaulted at your location; $5,000 per incident; $100,000 aggregate. 6.Medical Payments 6.Medical Payments: reimbursement of medical expenses to others injured on your location; $5,000 per incident; $100,000 aggregate. First Aid Expenses 7.First Aid Expenses: for expenses you incur in rendering first aid to others: $5,000 per defendant; $100,000 aggregate. What’s Special about SPLIP? What’s Special about SPLIP?

Page 8 8.Defendant Expense Benefit 8.Defendant Expense Benefit: reimburses you for lost wages and other expenses incurred when you attend a required trial, hearing or proceeding as a defendant in a covered claim: $5,000 per defendant; $100,000 aggregate. Page 9 How does SPLIP benefit the Host? Broad Coverage Broad Coverage: The program has been in place for several years and includes “best in class” coverage. Automatic Additional Insured Automatic Additional Insured: Host is an Additional Insured when required by the written internship agreement with the University. High Limits High Limits: Coverage limits are $2,000,000 per occurrence, and $4,000,000 in the aggregate. Ease of Administration Ease of Administration: SPLIP coverage will be available for all internship agreements between CSU and Host. SPLIP coverage terms will be standard for all Host internship agreements with any CSU campus. Managed by CSU for Students Managed by CSU for Students: thus assuring Host of continuous coverage for CSU students during the internship period.

General & Professional Liability Insurance Service Learning General & Professional Liability Insurance for CSU Students in practicum training for an academic degree in Service Learning programs of the CSU at all its campuses. Lloyd’s London The insurance has been underwritten by Lloyd’s London since July 1, 2007. Student Academic Field Experience for Credit Liability Insurance Program
