Memory Verse: I Thessalonians 5:16

 To rejoice is to feel joyful, to be delighted, to be filled with joy and gladness  To celebrate, jump for joy, exult, triumph, glory, be overjoyed, merry, be on cloud nine and walk on the air!  Human rejoicing is only for a period of seconds, maybe minutes, hours or days  There is a rejoicing that the LORD wants to teach us!!!

 We normally rejoice …  when all is all good and going well  When everything seems great and rosy  When we have enough to meet our daily need  When we get/acquire new things  When we receive favour from people…etc  What does the Bible say about rejoicing?  Let us look at some Bible verses on rejoicing : Philippians 4:4, Psalms 13:3, 1Thessalonians 5:16-18, Psalms 40:16

 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Philippians 4:4  But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. Psalm 13:5  Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, "The LORD be exalted!“ Psalm 40:16  How about when things don’t work out as expected?  When we are experiencing difficulty?  Does the above scriptures still apply?  Our Joy should transcends situations, happenings and events around us.  How do we practically do this???

 James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  Psalm 30:5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.  Romans 5:1-4  Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

 In the morning, All day long, Evermore  The merciful GOD is so mindful of man that HE visits him every morning. Job 7:18 -19. It is only wise, therefore that such a special love and concern be immediately reciprocal with adoration, worship and singing, not only in the morning but all day long and as long as there is life!  GOD visits man in the morning Job 7:18 -19  GOD visits man all day long Psalms 59:16, 134:1  GOD visits man as long as life is in man - Psalms 104:33  Whenever GOD visits man, it is expedient to receive HIM with rejoicing!

 GOD has called believers into Glory and not shame or confusion  GOD commands HIS work to praise HIM only. I Thess 5:18  GOD commands HIS children to praise HIM in all circumstances whether in fire or water  GOD promised to be with believers in famine, persecution, imprisonment, poverty, loss and fiery trials. Isaiah 43: 1 – 3  GOD’S commandment is that HIS name be praised! 2 Cor 6:10, 1 Peter 4:12-13 & John 16:33

 GOD will be praised forever in heaven.  The heavenly language of praise is hallelujah  The angel sings hallelujah to GOD in worship  GOD is the HOLY ONE, HE is glorious in majesty. Luke 2:13-14, Rev. 7:11-12, Rev. 5:11-12  The saints who made Heaven will sing to worship the rock of their salvation. Rev.19:1-7

 GOD should be praised with rejoicing at al times  GOD will be worshipped in Heaven with Praise forever  Believers should rejoice before GOD at all times – in plenty, surplus, scarcity, fire, water etc  Hallelujah shall be our song of rejoicing in Heaven! Conclusion:  Your present situations is not without knowledge of the all-knowing GOD. GOD is surely greater than the situation. The HOLY SPIRIT is reminding you today to rejoice anyway, for this may be the only weapon against your predicament. Rejoice evermore!
