Philippians 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
69
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! A. The “Everlasting Father” (John 1:1-3) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
70
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! A. The “Everlasting Father” (Colossians 1:16) For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
71
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! A. The “Everlasting Father” (Hebrews 1:10-12) He also says, “In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
72
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! A. The “Everlasting Father” (John 14:1-3) “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
73
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! B. God In The Flesh. (John 1:14-18) The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he
74
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! B. God In The Flesh. (John 1:14-18 cont…) was before me.’” From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father’s side, has made him known.
75
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! C. The Door. (John 10:7-10)
Therefore Jesus said again, “I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
76
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! C. The Door. (1 Peter 1:3-9) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the
77
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! C. The Door. (1 Peter 1:3-9 cont ) coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and
78
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! C. The Door. (1 Peter 1:3-9 cont ) may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
79
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! D. The Bread and Water of Life. (Isaiah 55:2) Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
80
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! D. The Bread and Water of Life. (Psalm 42:1-2) As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
81
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! D. The Bread and Water of Life. (John 6:51) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
82
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! E. The King of Kings. (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
83
1. Rejoice, Look Who He Is! E. The King of Kings. (2 Peter 3:13) But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
84
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
A. Revelation (Romans 5:6-11) You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from
85
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
A. Revelation (Romans 5:6-11 cont ) God’s wrath through him! For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
86
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
B. Redemption (John 8:33-34) They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?” Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.
87
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
B. Redemption (Romans 7:15, 24,25) I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in the sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.
88
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
B. Redemption (Romans 8:1-2) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.
89
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
C. Reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:19) that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
90
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
C. Reconciliation (1 Peter 3:18) For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,
91
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
D. Resurrection (Matthew 16:21) From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.
92
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
D. Resurrection (John 11:25-26) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
93
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Saving Power: (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
94
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Saving Power: (Romans 10:9) That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
95
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Saving Power: (Romans 6:4) We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
96
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Living Power: (Galatians 2:20) I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
97
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Dying Power: (Revelation 1:17-18) When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.
98
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Dying Power: (1 Peter 1:3) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
99
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Dying Power: (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14) Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.
100
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Dying Power: (John 14:19) Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.
101
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Done!
Dying Power: (Hebrews 9:27-28) Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
102
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (John 14:27) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
103
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (John 16:33) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
104
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (John 15:18-20) “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
105
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (Romans 5:1) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
106
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (Philippians 4:4-7) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
107
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (Romans 14:8) If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
108
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (James 1:3-4) because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
109
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Peace: (1 Peter 4:13) But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
110
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (John 16:7) But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
111
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (1 Corinthians 6:19) Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
112
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (Romans 5:5) And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
113
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (Romans 8:9-11) You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
114
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (2 Thessalonians 2:13) But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.
115
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (Romans 8:13) For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live,
116
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (2 Corinthians 3:18) And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
117
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (1 John 3:2) Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
118
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (Romans 15:13) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
119
1. Rejoice, Look What He Has Promised!
A. Holy Spirit: (Romans 5:1-5) Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
