3. Do You Have a Written Will in the Event of Your Death? Too Many People Wait Until They Are Much Older to Write a Will. The Practice of Writing a Will is Common in Our Society. Leaving a Will is Not a Modern Development, but an Ancient Practice. In Tonight’s Study We want to Focus Our Attention On The Last Will and Testament of Jesus! – ONE THAT IS SOME 2000 YEARS OLD and HAD IT’S ORIGIN FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD.

THE DEFINITION OF A WILL Hebrews 9:15-17 (KJV) the new testament For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

6. A WILL MAKER….. “testator” For every will (testament) there must be a “testator” who made the will. Hebrews 9:16 (Hebrews 9:16). A will (or testament) cannot be written unless the person has a “legacy” (i.e., money or property to pass on to others).

8. The Legacy of Eternal Life. -- Linked to forgiveness is the promise of eternal life in Heaven with God Hebrews 10:19-23; 1 John 2:25 (Hebrews 10:19-23; 1 John 2:25). Ephesians 1:3 -- Not all the riches of the earth could begin to compare with the eternal riches that the Lord Jesus gives us! (Ephesians 1:3).--

9. His Death Jesus’ Will (Testament) Went Into Effect at the Moment of His Death. Heb. 9:16-17 In every will, the testator must die (or blood must be shed) for the will to go into effect (Heb. 9:16-17). Col. 2:13-17 When Jesus died upon the cross, a “New Testament” (or new will) went into effect (Col. 2:13-17).

10. NO TWO WILLS CAN CO-EXIST Jer. 31:33-34 cf. (Heb. 8:10-13; 10:9 The New Testament (will) replaced the Old Testament (will) with all of its laws and regulations (as prophesied - Jer. 31:33-34 cf. (Heb. 8:10-13; 10:9). “cut out of the will”Gal. 5:1-4 To follow the Old Will (testament) in addition to the New Will (Testament) will cause a person to be “cut out of the will” (Gal. 5:1-4).

11. The Conditions of the Will. In every will, there are conditions that must be met in order for people to inherit the person’s legacy. Example: A father will give his ranch to his son provided he lives in Texas. Rev 21:7 overcomes Rev 21:7 (NKJV) “He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.” Revelation 22:14 Cf. Revelation 22:14

CONDITIONS TO BE MET To gain access to His grace, each person must… Mark 16:16 – BELIEVE in Christ (Mark 16:16) Rom. 10:9-10 – CONFESS his/ her faith in Him (Rom. 10:9-10) Acts 2:38 – REPENT of his sins (Acts 2:38) Acts 2:38 – Be BAPTIZED into Christ (Acts 2:38) ALL MUST BE JUST as IS specified by JESUS CHRIST in His will (i.e., the New Testament)

17. TO BE PARTAKERS …… Only Gal. 3:26-29 Only those who are baptized into Christ are children of God (Gal. 3:26-29) and thus heirs of eternal life. To remain an heir Heb. 6:11-12 To remain an heir of Christ after baptism, a person must maintain an obedient faith unto the Lord to the very end (Heb. 6:11-12).
