www.Build-It-Yourself.com Tools and Materials 8 ½”x11” 20lb copier paper 8 ½”x11” 64lb card stock 8 ½”x11” cardboard Foamie sheets Rubber bands Paperclips Coffee stirrer sticks Straws (one size must fit into a larger size) Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks have 2 straw sizes. Scotch tape Masking tape Scissors Glue gun Colored pencils 12” ruler

www.Build-It-Yourself.com Glider Wings and Tail + Rocket Fins Make crisp, accurate, straight folds. Folding in half ensures that the right and left wings will be the same. Fold Cut out wings. Fold edge Cut out 4 equal rocket fins. Cut out tail. Alternate wing design. 3” 3.5” 2” 1”

www.Build-It-Yourself.com Unfold wings. Roughly 6”. Cut 4 equal fins and bend a small flange so you can glue the fins to the fusaloge. Roughly 2”. Cut and fold tail as shown. Roughly 3”. Glider Wings and Tail + Rocket Fins Alternate wing design.

www.Build-It-Yourself.com Big straw. Small straw. You can find these two straw sizes at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. Cut the BIG straw roughly in half. Straw Fuselage

www.Build-It-Yourself.com 1) Pinch and tape or hot glue one end of each straw half. No air should get through. We will be making a straw rocket and a straw glider. 2) Cut out a 2“ diameter circle out of paper of Foamie. 3) Cut the circle in half. 4) Wrap each half circle into a cone and tape or hot glue. www.Build-It-Yourself.com Straw Fuselage Hot glue the cone to the closed end of the BIG straw.

www.Build-It-Yourself.com Integrate Parts Hot glue wings, tail and fins onto the BIG straw halves. Insert the small straw inside the big straw fuselage and blow! It may help to wrap a small rubber band around the front of the fuselage to control the center of gravity!
