Specifications of Columns True architectural proportions based on research into the original orders of architecture – Tuscan, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian, Greek Doric, Composite Customized proportions of the above orders of architecture for flexibility in design and implementation needs

Specifications of Column Increased load bearing capacity over stock house (Colonial) columns True architectural entasis (1/3 straight cylinder, 2/3 bowed taper), optional straight taper or non- tapered styles available Column height/diameter ratio is very customizable Sizes of columns from 4” to 36” diameter, and from 3’ to 30’ in height

Cap & Base Materials Exterior cap and base available in rot-proof fiberglass and polyurethane Interior capitals and bases made of the finest grades of wood

Available Wood Choices Exterior columns: clear finger-jointed pine or clear all heart finger-jointed redwood. Interior columns: any hardwood or softwood. Popular species are cherry, maple, oak, mahogany, walnut, cedar, redwood, and many others.

Column Plan Designs Any plan style: Round, Square, Octagonal, even Custom Custom trimming to finish length on request

Exacting Details Ionic or Doric Fluting: Ionic flutes are typically 24 per column, twice the width of the fillet, and depth is ½ the width (20 flutes on 4” diameter columns). Doric flutes are 20 per column, no fillets, depth is approximately 1/6 of the width. Typically fluted the entire shaft, they can also be stopped flutes like Ionic.

NEW! Traditional Columns Traditional Style Columns made of red oak, cherry, African mahogany or hard maple Emulate Tuscan styling, reduced wood costs, shorter lead times Available un-fluted or fluted. (Custom fluting for specific opening heights at 10% up- charge.)

Warranty Ten year limited warranty on redwood columns, or One year limited warranty on pine columns, If installed according to TCA installation guidelines.
