This World Never Satisfies We have… and we want more. We get more… and we want bigger/better. We get bigger/better… and we want newer. This is nothing new. Ecc. 1:8-9

People Never (fully) Satisfy Not family members; Not friends. Not even family or friends who are Christians. We are fallible and struggle with the flesh: thus, we let each other down. Ro. 3:23; 7:14ff

Only God Satisfies “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory…

Only God Satisfies …Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.” (Ps 63:1–5).

He Divinely Satisfies Our aches and pains. Matt. 5:4 Our daily needs. Matt. 5:6 Our longing for peace in the midst of hate. Matt. 5:9 Our longing for justice. Matt. 5:10ff Our longing to be truly loved. Jn. 3:16f

If God Satisfies, Then Why…? Do so many of God’s people not long for Him as David wrote? Do many of God’s people go after temporary pleasures that never fully satisfy? Because…we’re not satisfied in Christ. Jas. 4:3-5

You Cannot Be Satisfied in Christ … Until you let go of this world … Until you let go of this world 1 Jn. 2:15-17
