Solomon’s Death and Succession Died of natural causes around the age of 80 His son, Rehoboam succeeded him as king Ten of the Twelve tribes refused to accept him as king Jeroboam became king of the Ten Northern Tribes Rehoboam continued to reign in the Southern Two Kingdoms

The Divided Kingdom The Northern Kingdom = Israel The Southern Kingdom = Judah Different kings for each kingdom Fought off invaders Many power struggles between the two kingdoms

Prophets Spoke the message of God to the people Reminded the people of their past Warned them of the dangers of sin Encouraged the people to have strong faith
