A type of sentence structure where the main clause is at the beginning of the sentence. Most natural type for English speakers Ex: I found a large hall, obviously a former garage, dimly lit, and packed with cots. I am willing to pay slightly higher taxes for the privilege of living in Canada, considering the free health care, the cheap tuition fees, the low crime rate, the comprehensive social programs, and the wonderful winters.

Could end at one or more points before it actually does Advantages: Gets the point across quickly, clearly and succinctly. Disadvantages: It is very easy to lose control of a loose sentence so that by the end the reader has forgotten what your main point was.

A type of sentence structure where the main idea comes at the end of the sentence. "And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." Considering the free health care, the cheap tuition fees, the low crime rate, the comprehensive social programs, and the wonderful winters, I am willing to pay slightly higher taxes for the privilege of living in Canada.

Advantages: promotes energy, as it preserves the unity of the sentence and concentrates its strength in a single point. Disadvantages: Has an artificial appearance. unfitted for some kinds of composition, and its frequent recurrence is always disagreeable
