2 2 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class Program Undergraduate commissioning program. Three options available—Ground, Aviation, Law. General Eligibility Requirements See each option for additional requirements. Must be a US Citizen. 3 3 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class Program General Eligibility Requirements, Continued Standardized Test Scores. –ACT composite score of 22 or better or, combined math and English score of 45 or better or –SAT score of 1,000 or better or –ASVAB score of 74 or better Must successfully pass medical and fitness tests. Must possess exemplary moral character.

4 4 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class Program Officer Candidate Benefits After completing 1 summer of OCS, eligible to request $5,200/year Tuition Assistance and $3,500/year Financial Assistance. $3,000 for each 6-week period of OCS; $5,000 for 10-week period. Housing, sustenance and medical coverage provided during training. Officer Benefits > $35,000/year with annual pay increases. Basic housing allowance ($700 - $1,200/month). Full medical and dental coverage; access to base exchange and commissary. 30 day’s paid vacation yearly. Tuition assistance. Retirement after 20 years’ service.

5 5 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps--Platoon Leaders Class Program (Ground Option) Open to full-time freshman – junior, any major. Freshmen and sophomores attend 2, 6-week courses at Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Quantico, VA. Juniors attend 1, 10-week course. Upon completion/graduation from OCS, candidates return to school to pursue Baccalaureate degree. Must maintain 12 semester hours and at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Paid summer training--$2,700 for 6-weeks training and $5,200 for 10- weeks training. Housing, sustenance, medical coverage provided. Once complete 1 summer of OCS, can earn up to $2,700/school year through Financial Assistance Program, and up to $5,600/school year through Tuition Assistance Program. Once commission is accepted, promoted to Second Lieutenant with a 42 month active duty requirement.

6 6 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps--Platoon Leaders Class Program (Aviation Option) Must be mentally and medically qualified. Guaranteed to attend flight training after successful completion of OCS and accepting commission. Introductory Flight Screening Program provides Student Naval Aviators with a maximum of 25 hours of civilian aviation flight training and private pilot group school prior to beginning the Naval Aviation Preflight Indoctrination. PLC Aviation Additional Eligibility Requirements No more than 27.5 years old at time of Second Lieutenant commissioning. Must pass the Navy/Marine Corps Aviation Selection Test Battery. Minimum vision 20/400 correctable to 20/20.

7 7 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps--Platoon Leaders Class Program (Law Option) Open to seniors and first and second year law students. Must score a minimum 150 on the LSAT. After completion of 10-week session at OCS, commissioned as Second Lieutenant; placed on inactive duty without pay or allowance while finishing law degree. While attending law school, service credit is given for promotion and pay purposes. Upon graduation from law school and admittance to the state bar, Basic School is attended followed by Naval Justice School. Then you’ll serve as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate. Continued…

8 8 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps--Platoon Leaders Class Program (Law Option) PLC Law Additional Eligibility Requirements, Continued Minimum full-time college Senior (12 or more credit hours). Accepted to an ABA-accredited law school. LSAT score of 150 or better. Less than 30 years of age when transition to active duty.

11 11 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps Officer Candidates Course Program Officer Candidate Benefits You will be paid as a Sergeant/E-5 while attending OCS. You’ll earn approximately $5,200 during a 10-week period. Housing, sustenance and medical coverage provided during training. Officer Benefits As a Second Lieutenant, annual salary will exceed $48,000 (includes housing and subsistence allowance), with annual pay increases. Full medical and dental coverage for you and your family. 30 days’ paid vacation annually. Access to the Base Exchange and Commissary and other programs/facilities. Continued…

12 12 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps Officer Candidates Course Program Officer Benefits, Continued Tuition assistance of up to 100% for off duty graduate education. Eligible for retirement after 20 years of service. Post-graduate educational opportunity programs at the Naval Postgraduate School and other graduate schools.

13 13 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps—Officer Candidates Course Program (Ground Option) Upon graduation from college, applicants attend a 10-week course at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Upon successful completion of OCS, candidates are offered a direct commission in the US Marine Corps as Second Lieutenant.

14 14 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps—Officer Candidates Course Program (Reserve Option) Upon graduation from college, applicants attend a 10-week course at Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA. Upon successful completion of OCS, candidates are offered a Reserve commission in the US Marine Corps as Second Lieutenant. After successful completion of the Basic School Reserve Second Lieutenants are assigned to one of five Military Occupational Specialties selected at the time of contracting and are ordered to report to a Select Marine Corps Reserve unit geographically near their current residence in order to fulfill their service obligation.

15 15 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps—Officer Candidates Course Program (Aviation Option) Must be no more than 27.5 years old at the time of commissioning as a Second Lieutenant. Must pass the Navy/Marine Corps Aviation Selection Test Battery. Must be found medically qualified for flight. Must have uncorrected vision not greater than 20/100 correctable to 20/20. Individuals selected into the program will be guaranteed flight training for designation as a Marine Corps Aviator or Naval Flight Officer. The Introductory Flight Screening Program provides Student Naval Aviators with a maximum of 25 hours of civilian aviation flight training and the private pilot ground school prior to beginning the Naval Aviation training pipeline.

16 16 School of Business Career Services US Marine Corps—Officer Candidates Course Program (Law Option) Open to 3 rd year law students and law school graduates. In addition to meeting the basic requirements of the OCC ground program, candidates must have scored 150 or better on the Law School Admission Test and have been accepted to a state bar. Must be less than 33 years old when transitioning to active duty. Upon successful completion of a 10-week session at OCS, you will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps and designed a Student Judge Advocate. You will be ordered to the Basic School, followed by the Naval Justice School in New Port, RI. You will then serve as a Marine Corps Judge Advocate, practicing law at one of the many locations around the world.
