8. The Personal Project The personal project is a significant body of work produced beginning in grade 9 and culminating the spring of grade 10. The personal project allows students to work on a project that has special meaning to them – something they have a passion to do!

The personal project may take may forms For example: An original work of art A written piece of work on a special topic A piece of literary fiction (creative writing) An original science experiment An invention or specially designed object or system An entrepreneurial business or project Realistic Project: A student who has studied the Piano for a number of years decides to write and interpret a musical score for parts of a school play. Unrealistic project: A student decides to learn to play the piano.

10. Every student is paired with a mentor teacher. The mentor teacher  makes sure the student understands the guidelines and assessment criteria.  guides the student on how to complete the project successfully.  provides positive, constructive feedback  Ensures that the project is authentic and entirely the student’s own work.
