The Personal Project The personal project is a significant body of work produced beginning in grade 9 and culminating the spring of grade 10. The personal project allows students to work on a project that has special meaning to them – something they have a passion to do!

The personal project may take may forms For example: An original work of art A written piece of work on a special topic A piece of literary fiction (creative writing) An original science experiment An invention or specially designed object or system An entrepreneurial business or project Realistic Project: A student who has studied the Piano for a number of years decides to write and interpret a musical score for parts of a school play. Unrealistic project: A student decides to learn to play the piano.

Every student is paired with a mentor teacher. The mentor teacher makes sure the student understands the guidelines and assessment criteria. guides the student on how to complete the project successfully. provides positive, constructive feedback Ensures that the project is authentic and entirely the student’s own work.
