Post-Secondary Enrollment Options... Allows qualified high school students to take college classes 2 Options Option A – College Credit Student pays Available during academic year and summer Grades can be calculated in high school transcript Ohio Senate Bill 140 Ninth through Twelfth grade students Option B High School and College Credit School district pays cost of tuition and books Option is only available during the academic year Grades earned are calculated into the high school grade point

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options... Common characteristics of Option A and B Students may not be enrolled in both options during the same semester. Academic admissions are the same for both options. College schedules and grades are sent to the high school. Freshman Forgiveness is not an option. Students who receive grades of a D or F are subject to dismissal from the program. High School and college courses cannot amount to more than a full-time high school load. f

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options... requirements and admissions guidelines “B” Average or better required by Ohio in a similar high school course prior to enrolling in a college course in the same subject area. 23 ACT 1070 SAT Composite or combined math and reading scores. Students seeking admissions to Kent State University Kent Campus PSEO program should generally meet or exceed these guidelines. Demonstrated mastery of introductory college preparatory core curriculum through 10 th grade. 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

ACT information and test dates ACT Test Dates Test Date Registration Deadline Feb. 11 Jan. 13 April 14 March 9 June 9 May 4 September 8 TBA October 27 TBA December 8 TBA Fees apply with late registration www.actstudent.org Register online or ask your school counselor for a packet. ACT/SAT scores must be submitted with the application. Career Services http://career.kent.edu Check the website for the ACT Residual test dates. The ACT Residual test scores can only be used for Kent State University.

Apply... Meet with the high school counselor Role of the school counselor Before applying to any post-secondary program, parents and students should meet with the high school guidance office to learn about the program. The guidance office plays a critical role in understanding the program and how the school district’s policies relate to the following. Timeline The guidance office will mail a letter inviting students and parents to a PSEOP informational meeting. Sign an intent to participate by March 30 th. Scheduling for high school classes Remaining graduation requirements and if college courses will fulfill those requirements Full-time equivalency with high school and college enrollment Repayment policies in the event of withdrawal or failure How KSU grades are accepted on the high school transcript
