6  Prior to 1964 IU & PU offered programs in F.W.  Combined campus in 1964  As we started:  Two of everything (including two Senates)  3,000 students in 1964  One 4 year degree in 1965  Athletics in a high school gym  Formal merger of campus administration (1975)  One Senate formed – Who will lead?  Regional Campus with Purdue University(IUPUI)

7 Today at IPFW ?  One of three Purdue Regional Campuses  5 th largest university in Indiana (50K alumni)  14,192 students in fall of 2010 (+ in 2011)  424 full-time faculty  0ver $10 million awards in 2010  Over 200 degrees offered (B.S. & Masters)  NCAA Division I (16 sports) (5 at APR 1000)  Commuter campus (with 1,200 in housing)  Carnegie Community Engagement award (2011)  Northeastern Indiana leading university  Leaders group started in 2003

22  Mastodon bones (10,000 yr old) found 40 Miles North  Geology Department excavated them from a farm  1970 IPFW looked for a mascot that was not tied to IU or PU  Mastodon was chosen by students
