2 What is Daphnia-magna?  A species of Daphnia under kingdom Animalia  Reproduction: Both Sexually and asexually  Their size is about 2-5mm  Prefer temperature 18-22 degree centigrade  PH 6.5 to 9.5  Affected By salt conc.  Transparent shell

3 Why Daphnia is used in the lab?  For toxicology testing any effects of chemicals can be seen  They indicate the health of the ecosystem  Easy to culture  Can be reared in small space  Give rise new broods every 2 to 3 days
