Who is your school counselor? Someone who wants you to get the most out of school and to reach your full potential. Your school counselor is trained to help you: Find solutions, Sort out problems, Discuss feelings and needs, and Explore options!

What does your school counselor do? Your school counselor can help you in the following areas: ACADEMIC: Course Selection/Academic Planning Study Skills/School Performance Graduation Requirements Test Results College Planning CAREER: Making plans for your future after graduation from high school or college. Interest Inventories Career Information Job Shadowing PERSONAL/ SOCIAL: Peer Pressure/Conflict Resolution Substance Abuse Depression Stress Personal Problems

Informed Consent & Confidentiality Informed Consent: To give the counselee (you) the purposes, goals, techniques, and rules of procedure under which counseling services are received. Confidentiality: Conversations between counselee (you) and counselor are confidential, EXCEPT: Harm to self Harm to others Being harmed

How can you add/drop an academic class?

How can you join a sport? 1. Attend summer program. 2. Pick up “athletic packet” from the activities office. Includes Physical and Insurance Forms. Pay Transportation Fee. Turn in paperwork to Athletics or ASB: Mike Sims, Front Office Check with coach. See Athletic Director for “Add/Drop” slip -Mr. Sims or Coach Bring add/drop slip to counselor to change schedule.

How can you get a daily/weekly progress report? Daily Progress Report: Stop by the counseling office every morning before school. Present report to each teacher at the beginning of class. Retrieve from each teacher at the end of class. Weekly Progress Report: Stop by the counseling office every Friday morning before school. Present to each teacher at the beginning of class. Retrieve from each teacher at the end of class. It is YOUR Responsibility! It is YOUR Responsibility!
