Western Undergraduate Exchange Definitions WICHE: Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education WUE: Western Undergraduate Exchange WRGP: Western Regional Graduate Program Resident: A student who currently resides in the same state as the university they plan to attend. Non-Resident: A student who does not currently reside in the same state as the university they plan to attend. Reciprocity: When a state has agreements with neighboring states to provide lower tuition for residents to attend public colleges and universities in those states. Typically, non-resident admission fees and tuition are reduced (or eliminated) if you're a reciprocity student.

Western Undergraduate Exchange What is it: Students in Western states may enroll in participating two-year and four-year public college programs at a reduced tuition level: up to 150 percent of the institution’s regular resident tuition. In all cases, WUE tuition is considerably less than nonresident tuition. Participating States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming 145 Participating 2 & 4 Year Institutions

Western Undergraduate Exchange Qualification & Eligibility: Degree Program: Some institutions have opened their entire curriculum on a space-available or first-come, first-serve basis; others offer only designated programs at the reduced WUE rate. Academic Qualification: colleges and universities have additional criteria such as ACT/SAT test scores or high school GPA. WICHE does not set qualification criteria for WUE applicants. WUE is not automatically awarded to all eligible candidates

WUE: Arizona State University Freshman: 3.0 GPA or 1110 SAT (CR+M) Transfer: overall GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale in all transferable coursework Freshman are expected to live in an ASU residence hall on the campus where their academic major is housed during their first year Degrees: Limited New College of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (West) College of Technology and Innovation (Polytechnic) School of Letters and Sciences (Polytechnic Campus) College of Public Programs (Downtown Campus)

7. WUE: University of Montana, Missoula The WUE scholarship is administered as a competitive academic merit-based scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on a completed application, priority application deadline of 12/31. Freshman students who were offered WUE earned an average cumulative un-weighted High School GPA of 3.7 and earned a 27 on the ACT or 1780 on their SAT. Transfer students who were offered WUE earned an average cumulative transfer GPA of 3.6. Degrees: No Limitations

8. WUE:University of Nevada, Reno Complete high school with at least a 3.0 grade point average in the required courses for admission (English, Math, Natural Science, and Social Science). Students must apply by February 1 for the fall semester Degrees: No Limitations Possible Changes for 2011/2012 Test Scores Added: SAT: 1100 (reading and math) ACT: 22

9. WUE: Western Washington University Priority will be given to students with a 3.8 un- weighted cumulative high school GPA and a 27 ACT or 1200 SAT score (Mathematics and Reading combined). Leadership, academic rigor, special talent, school and community activities may also be considered Selection is competitive and only available to 35 to 40 incoming freshman. January 31st scholarship priority deadline Degrees: No Limitations
