4. Three Core 40 Diplomas are offered by the State of Indiana. These diplomas require specific college preparatory coursework and prepare students to attend 2 and 4-year colleges and universities. The state of Indiana Requires a Core 40 Diploma for students to be eligible for State Financial Assistance.

5. Complete at least 42 high school credits Complete specified courses in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, PE, and Health Pass the Grade 10 ISTEP+ No GPA requirement Complete at least 6 credits of Math in High School. Students must be enrolled in a Mathematics or Quantitative Reasoning class each year of High School.

6. English/Language Arts 8 credits Mathematics 6 credits : –2 in Algebra I –2 in Geometry –2 in Algebra II Social Studies 6 credits : –2 in World History or Geography –2 in U.S. History(11 th Grade), –1 in U.S. Government, 1 in Economics (12 th Grade) Science 6 credits: -2 in Biology -2 in Integrated Chem./Physics, Chemistry, or Physics -2 additional Core 40 science credits Physical Education -2 credits (PE Waiver Available for Athletics) Health -1 credit A year of Pre-Calculus and 2 years of a World Language are highly recommended as many colleges/universities require these courses for admission.

7. This diploma prepares students for college, technical or trade schools, apprenticeships, or the workforce. Students can earn both a Technical Honors diploma and an Academic Honors diploma.

8. Complete all requirements for the Core 40 diploma Complete at least 47 high school credits Earn at least a C- in each course and earn an overall B (3.0) grade point average at the time of graduation Pass the Grade 10 ISTEP+

9. Additional Requirements Earn 6 credits in the college and career preparation courses in a state-approved College & Career Pathway and one of the following: –State approved, industry recognized certification or credential, or –Pathway dual credits from the approved dual credit list resulting in 6 transcripted college credits Complete One of the following: Academic, transferable dual high school/college courses resulting in 6 college credits, verifiable. -Score 1750 or higher composite score, each section must be 530 or higher -Score a 26 composite or higher on ACT and complete the written section Earn the following minimum Scores on WorkKeys: Reading 6, Math 6, Locating Info 5 Earn the following minimum score on Accuplacer: Writing 80, Reading 90, and Math 75 Earn the following minimum score on Compass: Algebra 66, Writing 70, Reading 80

10. This is the most rigorous high school diploma offered by the State of Indiana. It is best suited for students who plan to attend a 4-year college or university after high school.

11. Complete requirements for the Core 40 diploma plus additional coursework in Math, Fine Arts, and World languages. Complete at least 47 high school credits Earn at least a C- in each course and earn an overall B (3.0) grade point average at the time of graduation. Pass the Grade 10 ISTEP+

12. Additional Required Coursework Earn 8 Math credits – 6 of these credits must completed in high school. Earn 6-8 credits in World Languages –3 Years of one language or 2 years of two different Languages Earn 2 Fine Arts credits – Art, Band, Chorus, Music Appreciation Complete One of the following: -Academic, transferable dual high school/college courses resulting in 6 college credits, verifiable. -Score 1750 or higher composite score, each section must be 530 or higher -Score a 26 composite or higher on ACT and complete the written section

13. The General Diploma prepares students for employment, the military, technical schools, and community colleges. This diploma requires 40 credits Students who receive a General Diploma are not eligible for State Financial Assistance, including 21 st Century Scholars

15. Credit-students will receive one credit for each course they successfully complete. Semester grades are figured by averaging two 9 weeks grades along with a final exam or project. GPA- Grade Point Average- Each letter grade is assigned a point, exampleA=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, D=1.0, F= 0GPAis calculated at the end of every semester, including all courses, to create a cumulative GPA. ISTEP+ Students must pass the College and Career Readiness Assessments in Algebra I and English 10 content areas. Dual Credit- Students take high school courses that are taught at the college/university level. These courses count as high school credit and transcripted college credit.
