General Education Requirements Foreign Language Requirement Language Exemption 3 years in high school of the same modern, widely-spoken foreign language with a “B” average or better AP test scores for Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish language or CLEP Level 2 exams in French, German and Spanish Exempt Majors: Biochemistry- Chemistry- Industrial Management Biology- Computer Science- Music Molecular Biology - Elec or Mech Engineering- Physics Required to complete 201 & 202 course sequence (6 hours) May need to begin with 101/102 sequence (+6 hours = 12 hours total) Students may drop back one level at the option of the Language Department within 1-week after midterms

Morning Schedule 10:00 AM - Everyone meets with faculty advisors Discuss academic major/career Review individual freshman schedule Complete Drop/Add form (if necessary) 11:00 AM - Students go to the HAL Atrium ID photos taken then gather in the Breen Student Union Registrar’s Office staff available to answer questions 11:00 AM - Parents return to Pew Fine Arts Center Parents’ Information Session Q&A for parents by parents

Important Dates for Next Fall New students arrive on Thursday, August 27 First day of classes – Monday, August 31 Classes begin at 8:00 AM Drop/Add Period Begins on Friday, August 28 for Freshmen Ends on Friday, September 4 at 5:00 PM Last Day to Withdraw from a Class Wednesday, October 28 at 5:00 PM After that date, a “WF” grade will be issued
