EGN 1935: ECE (Ad)Ventures 3 University of Florida, EGN 1935 – File 6 © Drs. E. M. Schwartz & A. A. Arroyo Bio of Parker Karaus >Year: Freshman >Major: Electrical Engineering >I’ve gained an actual interest in electrical engineering, rather than just a passing interest. >This course has given me a much better understanding of what electrical engineers actually do and enough interest to keep pursuing it. >I’d like to get an internship for an engineering company eventually. Also get my B.S. here, and possibly masters in some type of engineering >If you’re not sure what you want to do, take classes on it anyway to find out.

EGN 1935: ECE (Ad)Ventures 4 University of Florida, EGN 1935 – File 6 © Drs. E. M. Schwartz & A. A. Arroyo Bio of Wyatt Ling Year: Freshman Major: Mechanical Engineering I learned how different electronics work and how robots uses sensors to avoid obstacles. This course will allow me to understand how certain electronics function. I plan to get a B.S. and possibly my masters in M.E. I want to get a job as a mechanical engineer dealing with something I’m interested in. The subjects you enjoy the most will allow you to learn the most.

EGN 1935: ECE (Ad)Ventures 5 University of Florida, EGN 1935 – File 6 © Drs. E. M. Schwartz & A. A. Arroyo Bio of William Dixon >Year: Freshman >Major: Industrial or Mechanical Engineering >I learned how to program a robot through an intense maze all by itself. >This course will give me a better understanding of circuits in devices that I use daily. >I plan on majoring in ISE or ME and possible getting my MBA. >In the process of getting my B.S. at UF, also, I plan on acquiring my P.E. >If you pay attention, I promise that you will learn something.

EGN 1935: ECE (Ad)Ventures 6 University of Florida, EGN 1935 – File 6 © Drs. E. M. Schwartz & A. A. Arroyo Design Methodology Describe how you solved the problem >Our team passed the obstacle course and finished the course in 57 seconds. >Our team used trial and error to figure out what numbers each sensor needed to be programmed to. >Our team used all sensors on the robot. >Trial and error, adjusting and readjusting the sensitivity of the sensors to correspond to the maze’s path. >Originally we tried programming many functions but it was too complicated and being simple was best.

EGN 1935: ECE (Ad)Ventures 8 University of Florida, EGN 1935 – File 6 © Drs. E. M. Schwartz & A. A. Arroyo Presentation Content: Team Conclusions This class taught us how to program a robot successfully and it taught us about many things within the electrical world, such as bread boards, circuits, and how an iPod works. Take advantage of courses that you think will be interesting to you because you learn the most from those.
