5 Baptism Water washes away sins.

6 Baptism Shell A shell is sometimes used to pour water over the baby’s head. This reminds us that the first Christians were baptised by the river or the seashore.

7 Baptism Candle Sometimes a candle is given to the parents and Godparents. This reminds us of Jesus Christ who is called the light of the world.

8 Baptism Dove The dove is a symbol of the holy spirit which is important to Christians.

9 Baptism Stole The Vicar doing the baptism will often wear a stole. Which symbols can you see on these stoles?

10 Baptism Christening gown Babies will often wear a christening gown for their baptism.
