9
Double Portion Anointing God told Gideon - “Fearful and afraid” Jud 7:3 Stayed with the stuff / into the battle Be faithful where God has placed you Wife back home, secretary, usher, media, sound, lights, whatever
10
Double Portion Anointing Bethel : Genesis 28:10-19 Tiredness, rough roads, from going to Bethel. Abraham and Jacob met God, altars were made, Ark of the covenant, Bethel is mandatory ‘Men in crisis’ before they become ‘Men in action’ No Jordan without Bethel
11
Double Portion Anointing Jericho is the place where he learnt “not by might, not by power but by the spirit of God” Zec 4:6. Grapes, bananas, all fruit in various sizes (2 Chr 28:15). City of palm trees, poor were fed, feeble were cared for. Many battles were fought, Who cast upon the Lord won. Self-sufficient lost
12
Double Portion Anointing Every Elisha must experience Jericho He must come to the realization that Lord’s battles are won NOT in his own strength You have met God at Bethel, will you go onto Jericho? Face your battles in the strength of the Lord and give him all the glory for the victory? Will you do it your way and fall? Jericho offers relaxation, comfort, surrounding of provision….man of God that seeks the double portion must go on….
13
Double Portion Anointing Tarry here the Lord has sent me to Jordan …2 Kings 2:6 Two of them went on No longer Elijah and Elisha – become one He has earned the right to walk side by side with God’s prophet Jordan means the “Descended’ Way up with God is way down Jordan must be crossed before the promised land
14
Double Portion Anointing Jordan : John baptized here. Jesus was baptized with water and in the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit descended upon our Lord. Isaiah prophecy on Ch. 61 was fulfilled here. Received Spirit without measure John 3:34. It was here that Elisha (a type of Christ) would receive a double portion. Double portion did not start until Jordan experience. Miracle ministry of Jesus did not start until His Jordan experience. Our miracle ministry will not become reality until we have had Bethel Jericho and Jordan
15
Double Portion Anointing Too many have been touched by the mantle in the field but went no further Unsaved loved ones have kept those who were touched by God from making a clean break and following the Lord Others want the double portion but cant pass the test of Bethel, Jericho and Jordan
16
Double Portion Anointing When the waters of Jordan was parted by Elijah then the master and the disciple went across the dry river-bed Mantle did not come upon Elisha until the river was crossed
17
Double Portion Anointing Jordan is a river of death to self. It is the same mantle that touched us in the field that takes us through the Jordan Crossing the J is not to be accomplished by swimming, wading or boating. It is not the product of man’s self effort but the work of the Holy Spirit
18
Double Portion Anointing All confusions of today would be erased if everyone experienced the Bethel Jericho Jordan – no uncertainty Crossed the river-bed, laid all upon the Altar in baptismal death, he does not stay there with a satisfaction of a sanctified life.
19
Double Portion Anointing He faces further decisions. “What shall do for thee? Before I be taken away ?” Solomon asked for wisdom. Jesus asked for glory and power, Elisha asked for double portion What do we ask the father ? John 16:23-24.
20
Double Portion Anointing He that saves his life will shall lose it loseth will find Luke 9:24 One more condition ? If thou see me when I am taken away ………… Why was that dependent on seeing ??
21
Double Portion Anointing Disciples who saw the ascension of the master were the ones who received Pentecostal blessing Elisha was to tarry with his master until he had to believe that what his master said would happen would really happen
22
Double Portion Anointing Elisha never seen anyone ascend before, overriding the laws of gravity. Miracle! Never witnessed before. Therefore the walk would be a walk of faith
23
Double Portion Anointing Passed the tests of Determination, Commitment, Personal experience, Total reliance upon God, crucifixion of self, now he has been asked to take a test of Faith to receive. 120 in the upper room the mantle came and sat
24
Double Portion Anointing Elisha passed the test of faith and endurance by sticking there for Elijah’s ascension My father, my father the Chariot of Israel and the horseman thereof. Joy unspeakable – glorious experience of the baptism experience Too many stop at joy and blessing
25
Double Portion Anointing Elisha took the mantle expected to work for him immediately. Rending his own clothes a sign of personal inability of personal bankruptcy, he took up the mantle of his master and commenced to do mighty works for God
26
Double Portion Anointing Double amount of miracles ! Any less through His sons today ?

GilgalSeparation (from the flesh, the past, and unto God) Phil 3:6-7If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more… But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ BethelHouse of God (a desire to know God and be in His presence.) Phil 3:8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. JerichoFaith (Walk by faith and not righteousness or strength) Phil 3:9I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. JordanDeath & Resurrection (Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground…) I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.
