St. John said: “I indeed baptize you with water water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is better than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the HOLY SPIRIT and FIRE”

Jesus came to be baptized! “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”

After our Lord Lord came up from the water … The heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended like a dove dove & fire A voice voice spoke spoke from heaven … “This is my beloved SON, SON, in whom I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22)

Did you notice the HOLY TRINITY? Who was baptized? Who descended on the Son? Who spoke? The HOLY SPIRIT God the SON God the FATHER … God the SON … God the SON … The HOLY SPIRIT … The HOLY SPIRIT like a dove & fire like a dove & fire … God the FATHER

3) WHY WHY did He let St. John baptize Him? Our Lord wants to show us by example the importance of Baptism Our Lord was taking our sins on Himself to wash them away

4) HOW HOW important is Baptism? Our sins are washed away (white & pure) We become children of God The Holy Spirit dwells in us (to help, guide, comfort, enlighten …)

5) DO we still need to repent & confess after baptism? Yes, Yes, we have to always repent & confess To To cleanse ourselves again from sins
