1. Big headed and giants are very popular in Catalonia. The tradition consists of removing in parade certain figures to shoulders, that normally represent famous local people or mythological figures, dancing and animating the people who go to the celebration. The figures are made in cardboard-stone or polyester (or, more recently, fibber glass) with a frame of stick, wood, iron or aluminium that are covered with fabric. The “giants" are very, very tall, creating a nobility effect, whereas in the “big headed ones” of smaller height, the proportion of the head stands out, giving a funny effect.

3. Giant's story The parade of giants and Big heads is a popular tradition in the village. It began in 1964. They dance in the local square or along the streets to commemorate an event.

4. How did the idea arise? On April 8th, 1964 the Town hall collected 50.000 pesetas to buy a pair of giants and 10 big headed ones.

5. Where were they made? A very important factory in Barcelona was in charge of designing and making the giants and Big heads and their gowns. 6. They appeared for fist time in our village on the 1st of May,1964.. Local people had a very big party and baptized the giants of the village with the names of “Vicenç” and “Coloma”.
