The First Steps of the Early Church Acts 2:41-47

41 So those who accepted his message were baptized, and that day about 3,000 people were added to them. 42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers. 43 Then fear came over everyone, and many wonders and signs were being performed through the apostles. Acts 2:41-43

44 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common
44 Now all the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 So they sold their possessions and property and distributed the proceeds to all, as anyone had a need. Acts 2:44-45

46 And every day they devoted themselves [to meeting] together in the temple complex, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-47

They accepted the message.
They received it in faith (believed) A church is a body of people who have accepted the message—the Word of God. They accepted the Word of God. They welcomed the message. They received it in obedience (baptized)

They made a commitment. To the Word To Fellowship
To the breaking of bread To Prayer

They lived out their belief.
Their belief ushered in wonders and signs. Their belief brought them together. Their belief compelled them to meet with other believers everyday.

They saw results because of this.
The watching community was favorably impressed (the believers were enjoying the favor of all the people). The watching community was coming to faith (and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved).
