The dwelling provides man with the possibility of recreation and reproduction of generations. Need of SafetyThe dwelling assures protection against unfavourable impact of the environment, both natural and social. Social NeedsThe dwelling assures the realization of social processes of human activity: communication, unision; is a material basis for family building which is the initial social unit. The Need of Respect Possessing a dwelling increases self-esteem and status of its owner, reflects his social position. The Need of Selfassertion The dwelling provides the person with the environment for self- development and self-realization, expression of his creative abilities.

Housing socialization as a part of an individual socialization Housing socialization implies the process of acquiring a social experience aimed at satisfying the need of a dwelling space, through a system of corresponding regulations, values and behaviour patterns.
