History of AYP No Child Left Behind (NCLB) -2001 – Districts and schools are required to meet four sets of targets, developed by each state, to meet Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). – Districts or schools that receive Title I funds and that do not meet an AYP target in two consecutive years are subject to federal action – Scheduled for reauthorization in 2008 No reauthorization has occurred
