1. Examinees in the LEA come from different baccalaureate programs in agriculture: BSA, BAT, BSAS, BSAB and other BS Agriculture related programs

2. Baccalaureate programs in agriculture from CHED-recognized HEIs varied in the offering of the prescribed ten basic courses as required in the LEA: (2) Crop Science courses (2) Animal Science courses (2) Crop Protection courses (2) Soils Science courses (1) Agricultural Economics and Marketing course (1) Agricultural Extension and Communication course

3. The prescribed ten basic courses of the LEA were not strictly followed by the different HEIs offering agricultural programs. 4. Performance of CHED-recognized HEIs is low with 134 (44%) of 307 HEIs obtaining zero passing rate.

5. Major specializations in the agriculture degree programs (science-oriented research; technology and production oriented) produced different outcomes in the examinees’ performance. 6. Examinees’ access to HEIs review centers had an advantage in passing the LEA.

1. Implement strictly the requirements and administration of the LEA by the PRC Board at the regional/satellite offices. Examinees must be graduates of BSA and related baccalaureate programs and must have taken and passed all the ten prescribed basic courses in agriculture.

2. The HEIs need to improve and modernize the agriculture curricular programs to include the following: a. preparation of HEIs standard basic course syllabi b. conduct of training workshops for faculty teaching the basic courses c. faculty development(enrolment in post- graduate courses to equip the faculty) c. conduct of review classes prior to graduation in preparation for the LEA

3. The CHED-recognized HEIs should be monitored periodically to assess the institutional resources and capability-building programs in offering quality agricultural education throughout the country.

The HEIs with zero passing rate in the LEA should receive higher priority in terms of attention and support from CHED.
