Master Academic Plan The Master Academic Plan establishes goals in the following four areas: o Becoming financially sustainable o Becoming distinctively BSU o Becoming internationally competitive o Designing organizational support for MAP goals

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Implement new partnerships that jointly fund new initiatives and programming for the university/NTC. o Tribal consortium. o NW consortium. o Greater Bemidji. o Bemidji LEADS. o Bemidji Chamber. o Watermark Art Center. o MI2, HTEC. o International partnerships. AASCU/CEAIE/CIBT.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International New/Renewed Collaborative Degree Programs Nursing RN to BS in Nursing Blended. o BSU – Bemidji. o Northland C & TC at East Grand Forks. o Lake Superior College Duluth. o Anoka Ramsey CC - Coon Rapids. o Anoka Ramsey CC – Cambridge. o Century College White Bear Lake. Biology on ground. o North Hennepin CC starting fall 2015.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International New/Renewed Collaborative Degree Programs Renewal of Elementary Education Licensure/Degree Program Blended. o Distributed Learning in Teacher Education Twin Cities at Anoka Ramsey CC. Renewal of FasTrack PostBac Blended. o Alternative licensure program in Twin Cities. Renewal of Special Education Licensure Blended. o Casper, Wyoming. Business Administration Blended. o Anoka Ramsey CC beginning fall 2015.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Proposal for creating distinctive liberal education. Revamp international visiting professor program and education abroad. Provide an affordable (less than $1,000 above regular BSU semester costs) semester abroad/work abroad for BSU students.

Clark Library and University Learning Commons: o House integrated support services and re-designed learning areas for university students and faculty. Technology-enhanced meeting/study space. Expanded tutoring services. Collaborative teaching and learning activities. Technology support services. Research support.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Provide lifetime career services for BSU students. Expand summer learning and interim term opportunities: o Credit and non-credit offerings. o Study abroad experiences. o Camps. o Conferences and workshops.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Move beyond the current ‘aligned institutions’ designation with NTC. o Address liberal education fit within the new designation. o Address developmental education within the new designation.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Limit the size of BSU majors to 60 semester hours. Provide a route for BSU students to obtain at least one additional credential (e.g. certificate or minor) outside the major but within the 120 semester credit expectation.

MAP: Sustainable, Distinctive, International Pilot competency based learning. Expand prior learning assessment. Create a Center for Community Partnerships and Adult Learning. Expand the number of BAS degrees.
