College Level Examination Program A credit-by-examination program that validates and translates a student’s knowledge into college credit. Over seven million exams taken since 1967 176,000+ exams administered in 2013-14 Over 56,000 exams administered to military service members Over 1,700 colleges and test centers administer CLEP 2,900 colleges grant credit for CLEP exam CLEP Exam fee is $80

Structure 33 computer-based exams Primarily multiple-choice and essays. Listening sections for foreign languages Most are approximately 90 minutes in length Scoring Immediate score reports (except exams with essays). Exams are scored on a scale of 20–80. A score of 50 is equivalent to a grade of C “Right-only” scoring (no penalty for wrong answers) Student must wait 3 months to retest CLEP - Structure and Scoring
