The U.S. Jaycees History 1920’s: 1920’s: 1923: The Get Out The Vote program was the first Jaycee program to receive National endorsement 1927: Jaycee Charles Lindburg made the first solo flight between New York and Paris. The Jaycees worked with Lindburg to develop the U.S. Air Mail Service

More History…. 1930’s: 1930’s: 1936: The National Wildlife Federation is established with the guidance of the USJC 1938: The USJC name the Ten Outstanding Young Men 1940’s: 1940’s: 1946: USJC established permanent headquarters in Tulsa Oklahoma 1947: The adoption of the Jaycee Creed 1950’s: 1950’s: 1954: The first Outstanding Young Farmer program was held 1959: The Jaycees supported statehood for Alaska and Hawaii gained statehood the following year due to Jaycee effort

More History…. 1960’s: 1960’s: 1961: The First Governmental Affairs Leadership Seminar (GALS) was held 1970’s: 1970’s: 1972: Operation Identification Program to combat burglaries and aid in crime prevention efforts 1972: Operation Red Ball 5 million stickers were distributed to reduce fire fatalities 1980’s: 1980’s: 1984: By law change admitted women as full and regular members 1985: The U.S. Jaycees endorsed the Campaign for Liberty program, for the restoration of the Statue of Liberty
