The Process Create a petition for your proposed initiative Get ~325,000 signatures of registered voters Send the initiative to the legislature, which can either: -pass the initiative into law -send it and a legislative alternative to ballot -ignore/reject it; in which case it gets sent to the ballot for the voters to decide
