Federal Concierge LLC All Rights Reserved What is the FAC-P/PM? The Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers Proof that an employee meets the core training and experience requirements to be a project or program manager in the government. Intended to show synchronicity in training competencies of the management with the CIO Council-designated levels of programs. The larger the size of the program, the greater the manager’s training and skill must be.

The certification is required for FTE program and project managers that are assigned to MAJOR acquisitions as defined in Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-11, Part 7, exhibit 300, Planning, Budgeting, Acquisition, and Management of Capital Assets. Federal Concierge LLC All Rights Reserved Which PMs? 1.Individuals with significant involvement in one or more phases of the acquisition investment process (initiation, conceptualization/design, development, implementation, modification, maintenance, evaluation, disposal), 2.Managers with authority and responsibility for overseeing multiple phases of the acquisition investment process, 3.Individuals with responsibility for leading cross-agency or acquisition investment programs for a major portion or all of the investment life- cycle, 4.Individuals responsible for leading, coordinating, managing integrated project teams for acquisition investments, 5.Individuals participating on an integrated project team or a phase of the investment lifecycle with aspirations for career development as a program or project manager.

Federal Concierge LLC All Rights Reserved Certifications Program Managers & Contracting Officers Must be Certified OMB asks that the project manager identifies the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting Project Management certification level that he or she has obtained. The reader needs to have a greater understanding of the certification standards in order to respond to this question.

Federal Concierge LLC All Rights Reserved Once You Have It… –You Have to Maintain it. –All levels require 80 hours of continuous learning points (CLP) –For example, 10 CLP points per Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every 2 years –ACMIS – The ACMIS is a government-wide system developed under the oversight of the Federal Acquisition Institute to fulfill the requirement to collect and analyze acquisition workforce data while also making available information useful to agency managers and the acquisition community in general. –https://admin.acmis.gov/https://admin.acmis.gov/

Federal Concierge LLC All Rights Reserved Administration of FAC-P/PM The program will be administered by each civilian agency and, FAI (Federal Acquisition Institute) will conduct periodic reviews to ensure that the FAC-P/PM program is being managed consistently. HHS will be publishing official implementation guidance including mapping of competencies some time in the next two months.
