MGT3917 Managing Human Resources (1) Course Aims (1) To enable students to develop awareness of the central importance of human resources in the effective and efficient operation of organisations. To develop within students knowledge of the role, functions and range of activities undertaken by a Human Resource Management department within an organisation.

MGT3917 Managing Human Resources (2) Course Aims (2) To familiarise students with the processes and techniques of human resource management so that they could be reasonably expected to understand and appreciate human resource practices within work organisations within which they may be employed; To promote among students an awareness of contemporary debates and controversies within the relevant theoretical and applied areas of human resource management.

MGT3917 Managing Human Resources (3) Teaching Pattern and Method Seminar format A combination of lecture inputs and class activities such as group discussions, case analysis, etc. Assessment Coursework:50% Examination: 50%

MGT4921 International Dimensions of Management (1) Course Aims Develop students’ understanding of the contextual influences and organizational factors which shape international business organizations. Provide students with knowledge of managerial practices within cultural settings, particularly comparing East Asia with Western countries. Develop students’ practical skills to analyze the current issues in international business organizations.

MGT4932 Managing Change in Organizations (1) Course Aims Explore external and internal triggers of changes in contemporary business organisations. Provide students with concepts of change management to tackle changes in organisations. Explain resistance toward change and how to handle them. Develop students’ abilities in leading people through the processes of change in organisations.

MGT4932 Managing Change in Organizations (2) Teaching Pattern and Method Seminar format Lecture inputs, emphasis on lecture-student and student-student interactions, case discussions, short in-class assignments, etc. Assessment Coursework:50% Examination:50%

MGT2900 Introduction to Management (1) Course Aims Enable students to understand the environmental constraints of managers and organization. Develop students’ awareness of the nature and functions of management. Develop students’ skill in applying key management concepts and theories. Strengthen students’ ability to analyze and tackle real-life management problems.
