Definition: taking the work or ideas of someone else and passing it off as your own.

www.ait.asia As long as you identify where the information came from, you are not trying to pass off the work as your own. To make use of information you gather without being guilty of plagiarism, you must make sure that the sources are properly cited or referenced.

Turnitin anti-plagiarism software All theses and research studies are subject to electronic plagiarism checking before the final defense can be conducted. All doctoral dissertations are subject to checking before they can be sent to the external examiner for evaluation.

www.ait.asia The most extreme penalty that the Institute can impose is expulsion/dismissal. Otherwise, a student may face: suspension expulsion or suspension from the dormitory prohibition from entering certain AIT buildings Suspension of library use temporary or permanent suspension of the student's access to the Institute's IT resources a fine a public warning community service being declared persona non grata prohibition from being employed at the Institute.

www.ait.asia 11–12 August 2014: HOLIDAYS On Wednesday, 13 August: Submit your missing documents, if any, show receipt of first semester fees payment, application fee (if not yet paid) and your completed Registration form to Student Office; If documents are complete, you will obtain the following: (i) Password Slip to SIS; (ii) ID request form If documents are incomplete, your password slip will not be released.

www.ait.asia 11–12 August 2014: HOLIDAYS On Wednesday, 13 August: Go to the Cashier to pay for Student ID card (Baht 100). Go back to Student Office for submission of relevant information for your Student ID Card. You need to show your passport. Have your digital signature and your photo taken. Photos/signatures taken: Claim ID cards on Friday, 15 August at Student Office

www.ait.asia Registration/Enrolment = 8-22 August 2014 Check the course catalogue in the Student Information System (SIS); Make a study plan for your whole program in consultation with your Advisor; Enroll online in your SIS. Last day of adding/dropping of courses = 22 August 2014 Do not wait for the deadline. Finalize your enrolments early so that your Advisor will have sufficient time to approve your enrolment online.

www.ait.asia Students with Scholarships Attention: Students with Scholarships Please submit your bank account (first page of your passbook) to Student Office; Original receipt of air ticket for ADB scholars; Bursaries will be available by the last week of August. For those on self-support + AIT fellowship, you have to pay the fees within 30 days after the adding/dropping deadline. Otherwise, 1.5% interest per month will be imposed. This information will be shown in your SIS.
