Absolute Location A specific place on the Earth’s surface
Uses a grid system– latitude & longitude A global address

Relative Location Where a place is in relation to another place
Uses directional words to describe Cardinal and intermediate directions Landmarks, time, or distance

Rhode Island is bordered by Massachusetts to the north and Connecticut to the south Rhode Island is on the east coast Rhode Island is the Northeast Kansas is a Midwestern state.
