2. Calling Artists to Join the Dolphin Parade! The Georgia Aquarium is pleased to announce a new public art exhibit for Atlanta. We are celebrating the opening of our new Dolphin Exhibit and our fifth anniversary. As part of this celebration we will feature Dolphins On Parade. Finished sculptures will be displayed around town for approximately three months. The dolphin fiberglass forms serve as s beautiful canvas for artists to interpret and reflect on the excitement of this new addition to the Aquarium and to Atlanta. Artists are requested to submit an initial design proposal for their dolphin. Following a design review by our Dolphins on Parade committee. Artists will be paired up with sponsors to finalize the one-of-a-kind design. Artist Selection process Any artist or designer is eligible to participate. Artists are requested to submit a concept design of a Dolphin and examples from their portfolio. Committee approval of an artist and/or their design does not guarantee that the submitted concept will be the final design or that the artist will be selected to produce a finished sculpture. Artist Honorarium Selected artists will be awarded a stipend of $750 to assist with the cost of materials and supplies. Georgia Aquarium will not cover any costs artists incur in excess of the honorarium. The stipend will be disbursed in two payments: 40% on execution of the agreement and 60% upon deliver of the finished and approved form. Selected Artists Receive: $750 honorarium to cover materials and supplies Name recognition on a display plaque on the dolphin, listing with a photo of your completed work on the Aquarium website and other media opportunities as available Authorization to use the Aquarium logo and images of your dolphin in your personal portfolio Deadlines: Artists applications are currently being accepted. All artist and sponsor final design proposals are due August 1, 2010. Dolphin forms will be available for pickup starting August 1, 2010. Sculptures must be completed and delivered to the Georgia Aquarium by October 31, 2010.

4. Display Locations Appropriate, high visibility locations around Atlanta will be secured by the Georgia Aquarium to display finished sculptures for three to six months in early 2011. Each sculpture will include a plaque bearing an Aquarium logo, the name of the artist, the sponsor and the title of the work. Final locations will be determined taking into account the sponsors’ interests, venue owners and the suitability of certain locations to particular sculptures. Specs and Design Criteria The molded fiberglass forms are approximately 65"H x 24"W x 24"D. For images and line drawings please visit www.georgiaaquarium.org/dolphinparadewww.georgiaaquarium.org/dolphinparade Artists have the option of attaching accessories to the fiberglass form so long as they do not pose any danger to the public and they adhere to the design guidelines. Proposed additions must be made clear in the design proposal and the adhesives used to adhere any extra pieces must follow prep and painting tips provided by the manufacturer and available at www.georgiaaquarium.org/dolphinparade www.georgiaaquarium.org/dolphinparade Designs must be appropriate for family viewing, free of political religious or sexual messages and content disparaging of third parties. The design should not include any reference to alcohol, firearms or tobacco. Designs may not include any direct include any direct reference to a specific product or company name without that company sponsoring the dolphin and approving their own marks, names and logos for use in the project. A design may incorporate Georgia Aquarium marks and logos with approval from Georgia Aquarium. Selected artists will be required to pick up their forms from the Georgia Aquarium and return them upon completion of the design, provide their own production space, and work with approved mediums and finishes (oil-based enamels and primer, polyurethane-based paints, five- minute epoxy, polyester and polystyrene fillers, and construction adhesive). The finished condition must be prepped for a UV clear coat. A full list of materials and a support hotline will be proved to selected artists. All materials must be able to withstand outdoor climate conditions, and be safe and durable for the public to touch.

5. Ownership and Copyright Georgia Aquarium will identify the artist in all public uses and displays of the artist’s design. The completed forms will be owned by Georgia Aquarium until they are auctioned off or until the public display period is complete. At that time, the Aquarium will transfer physical ownership of the sculptures to the successful bidder or “splash sponsor.” Artists who’s designs are chosen, will as a condition of receiving the form, enter into an intellectual property agreement with Georgia Aquarium that will, among other things, transfer and assign all rights, title and interests in the design to the Aquarium. In turn, Georgia Aquarium, will grant the artist, the sponsor and any winning, paid bidder for the sculpture nontransferable, non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and create derivative works based on the artist’s design or to use the design as a sample of their work for philanthropic commitment. The foregoing license shall be for noncommercial purposes only. The artist, sponsor and any winning, paid bidder for the sculpture shall obtain prior written permission from the Aquarium for all commercial uses of the design and/or sculpture including but not limited to photographs of the sculpture used in advertising and promotions.
