2 What is the Clearinghouse? The clearinghouse evaluates student courses, grades and test scores to determine whether students meet prescribed minimum academic requirements.

5 Eligibility and Admission Admission to an NCAA college or university is NOT the same as NCAA initial eligibility. Each institution decides which students to admit, based on its admissions criteria. A student-athlete who meets NCAA initial- eligibility standards, may not be admitted to the institution. Likewise, a student-athlete who gains admission to a college or university may not meet NCAA initial- eligibility standards.

7 Division I Standards 2008 and After 16 core courses: –4 years of English –3 years of Math –2 years of Science –1 year of additional English, Math, or Science –2 years of Social Science –4 years of additional courses (see 2005- 2007)

8 Division II Standards 14 Core Courses:  3 years of English  2 years of Math  2 years of Science  2 years of additional English, Math, or Science  2 years of Social Science  3 years of additional courses

9 More Division II Criteria There is NO sliding scale. The minimum core GPA is 2.0. The minimum SAT is 820 (verbal & math only) and the minimum ACT sum score is 68.
