2 REGISTRATION PREP 2014-15 Get the most out of your registration

3 Registration is February 25-26 Today you will begin preparing for registration

4 Use the Graduation Checklist that your advisor hands out to you. Write your name on it. Mark the classes that you have already passed with an X. If you are not sure if you passed or not, check on Skyward under “Graduation Requirements”.

5 Explore the Course Catalog Open the link on the HSB Web Site. HSB Web Site. Explore classes by changing the subject area in the subject area drop down menu. Use Chrome or Firefox, Internet Explorer does NOT work. Press Update List to view courses in that subject area. When you find a course that interests you, write down the course number, like this: CAREERS IN CULINARY ARTS I - TT1254

6 Selecting Elective Courses CULINARY ARTS I TT1254 When you have found a course you are interested in, write down the name and code in one of your unchecked boxes which match that subject area: CAREERS IN CULINARY ARTS I - TT1254

7 Course Selection Tips Some courses can not be used to satisfy graduation requirements. Ask your advisor if you have questions. ELL courses will be entered as electives. Ask your advisor for advice. Return your completed form to your advisor. This is not a final form. Registration happens Feb. 25-26

8 Beyond High School Event and College Fair Kent School District invites students and families to the annual Beyond High School Event at Kentwood High School on February 4, 2015, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sponsored by Kentlake, Kent-Meridian, Kentridge, and Kentwood high schools, this college and career fair showcases education options after high school. Students and families will receive information about two-year and four-year colleges, technical institutes, military academies and service, and apprenticeship and internship programs. Representatives from more than 60 institutions will be on hand. Attendees can also attend breakout sessions led by KSD staff members on topics including the NCAA Clearinghouse, using Naviance, and the college bound scholarship program.
