Everyday Worship Matthew 4:8-10

WORSHIP Old English: To ascribe “Worth – Ship” or worthiness or value or preciousness to God. Ardent devotion; reverent love to the Creator. Response to an encounter with the Presence of God. OT Hebrew: To bow down

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’” Matt. 4:8-10

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. ~ Romans 12:1

From Latin: Cum Pan — Literally, “With Bread”; derived from “breaking break together.” So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 10:31

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” ~ Lk 10:38-42
