WHAT THE NUMBERS SAY…. ACT 23.3 BATAVIA MEAN 90% OF OUR STUDENTS ENROLL IN COLLEGE 29 HONORS AND AP CLASSES OFFERED LAST YEAR BATAVIA WON ITS FIRST STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP BATAVIA HAS 21 EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS 26 CREDITS TOTAL TO GRADUATE THE CLASS OF 2014 EARNED OVER $2,000,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS

HOW DO OUR STUDENTS DO? ABOUT 50% OF FRESHMAN AT BHS TAKE AT LEAST ONE HONORS COURSE THE TOP HALF OF THE CLASS LAST YEAR HAD CUMULATIVE GPA OF 3.32 OR HIGHER THE TOP 25% OF THE CLASS LAST YEAR HAD A CUMULATIVE GPA OF 3.65 OR HIGHER

GRADUATION/ COLLEGE REQUIREMENTS Graduation 3.5 credits English .5 credit Speech 2 credits Science 3 credits Math 1 credit US/Am History 2.0 social studies .5 credit Govt. 3.5 credits PE .5 credit Health .5 credit Cons. Ed College 4 credits English 3 credits Science Math through Advanced Algebra or a senior math 3 Credits social studies 2 credits Foreign Language (colleges will recognize if 1 st credit is earned in Middle school)

HONORS AND AP COURSES HONORS AND AP COURSES WILL GIVE STUDENTS AN ADDITIONAL GRADE POINT PER CLASS. EX: IF YOU EARN A B, IT WOULD COUNT FOR 4 POINTS INSTEAD OF 3. CLASS RANK WILL BE CALCULATED ON THE HIGHEST GPA OF 4.375

LATE START PRESENTATIONS THURSDAY’S 7:35 – 8:15AM 1.IN THE FALL…MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE WITH ALL FRESHMEN IN GROUPS OF 50 COVERING TOPICS SUCH AS: COURSE PLANNING, GPA, RIGOR, EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, GETTING INVOLVED IN SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY, AND HOW TO SEEK OUT ASSISTANCE. 2.PARENT PRESENTATION IN THE WINTER THAT WILL BE SCHEDULED TO ADDRESS REGISTRATION FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.
