I can create a power point presentation to show my understanding of the scientific process by preparing all the parts of it in a power point presentation. Link to Standards

Create a new power point presentation: Requirements: A title slide with title, name, number, and date A table of contents slide A slide describing the hypothesis A slide describing how the experiment was conducted A slide including the results (data table) A slide describing the conclusion Hyperlinks from the table of content slide At least 4 pictures throughout the entire slide show Animations on each slide Link to Standards

How to insert a new slide in a power point presentation How to insert a picture in a power point presentation How to change the slide backgrounds How to insert hyperlinks How to add animations to a slide How to create a new power point presentation

Left click the start button at the bottom left of your screen. Double click Microsoft Power Point (if not found there, select all programs then Microsoft Power Point) Don’t forget to save your work (like in Word; File-Save) Return to Table of Contents

Click New Slide on the Home tab ribbon. You can move the slide position in the show by clicking and dragging it to where you want it on the left side bar. If you don’t have the side bar, choose this icon on the bottom right of your screen When you have your power point presentation open Return to Table of Contents

Left click the Design tab. Choose one of the background patterns you desire. There are more options if your scroll down. If you only want that background for the selected slide, right click on the design, then choose apply to selected slide. When you have your power point presentation open Return to Table of Contents

Click the Insert tab. Click picture Choose the picture from a file You may also add clip art this way or a new text box to write something else in. When you have your power point presentation open Return to Table of Contents

When you have your power point presentation open Left click the Animations tab. Click custom animations. A side bar will show up on the right side of the screen Click on a picture or text box you want to animate. Make sure it is highlighted with a border. Click add effect and choose an effect you want to add (Start with Entrance). When selecting the type of animation choose more effects to sample some effects. Try adding other effects like exits or emphasis. Have fun and make it interesting! Return to Table of Contents

Click the Insert tab. Click on a picture or text box you want to be as the trigger for your link. Make sure it is highlighted with a border. Click Hyperlink and a different window will appear. Choose Place in This Document. Then choose a slide to link it to. Click OK When you have your power point presentation open When you watch the power point presentation, You should be able to click on your target which will take you to the slide you linked it to. Return to Table of Contents

Conclusion After doing this project you will not only have completed a science experiment, but you will have also acquired or enhanced your technology skills in presentation. This assessment has also incorporated other means of media and learning skills rather than just writing. In closing, I personally hope everyone, no matter what your ability or knowledge level of the content has enjoyed this assignment. With much aloha, Mr. Pau

Teachers plan and design effective learning environments and experiences supported by technology Performance Indicator A: Design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the diverse needs of learners. Performance Indicator C: Identify and locate technology resources and evaluate them for accuracy and suitability. Performance Indicator D: Plan for the management of technology resources within the context of learning activities. Standard : II. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETSS. Performance Indicator : a. design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity. Performance Indicator : b. develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress. Performance Indicator : c. customize and personalize learning activities to address students' diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources. Performance Indicator : d. provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching. Standard : III. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society.
