2. Project objectives Established in 2003 through teacher training programs including Eisenhower Science and Math Grant, and Improving Teacher Quality grant The objectives of the Northern Arizona MesoNet (NAM) are to:  Establish and maintain a network of web-based weather stations that continuously record and report weather data from northern Arizona;  Provide real-time access to the data to teachers, students, the general public, meteorologists, climate scientists; and  Integrate NAM data into the MesoWest database so the data is more widely accessible

3. The NAM data stream The Northern Arizona Mesonet (NAM) is a network of 18 wireless, solar-powered weather stations located throughout northeastern Arizona that upload thirteen measured and calculated parameters automatically to a web server every 2 minutes (except DPWS-30 minutes). http://www.cefns.nau.edu/~nauws/http://www.cefns.nau.edu/~nauws/

Short-term plans Re-install Page Middle School Weather Station and DeMiguel Elementary School Weather Station Upgrade Sinagua High School Weather Station Get web access to Rocky Ridge Boarding School, Hopi Jr./Sr. High School Weather Stations, and the Flagstaff Nordic Center Weather Stations Investigate potential for stations at Grand Canyon, Sechrist Elementary School, and Diné College-Tsaile Link to curriculum developed by Joëll Clark

8. Long-term plans Establish data quality check for archived and incoming data (already exists for sites uploaded to MesoWest). Re-configure all stations to present actual barometric pressure, not corrected to sea level. Develop a computer interface system that requires less power for use at solar-powered sites (off the grid). Acquire long-term funding.
