PLANETARY RINGS - composed of extremely dark particles - thirteen distinct rings are presently known - extremely narrow - a few kilometres wide. - rings – grey - discovered – 10.03.1977 - december 2005- detected a pair of previously unknown rings - methane - absorbs red light, giving Uranus its blue-green color - are named 6, 5, 4, Alpha, Beta, Eta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon - moons – count –27 –icy moons
