6 Cleaning Systems Zone/Area cleaning - this system centers around one cleaner assigned to a single floor, station, section of a building or pod in a facility. The employee performs all duties related to cleaning. Team/Specialist cleaning - this system’s focus is on a division of labor. Team cleaning divides zone cleaning activities into four distinct functions.

7 Specialist/Team Cleaning Trash function (light duty specialist) Vacuum function (vac specialist) Restroom function (restroom specialist) Utility/project function (utility specialist)

8 Cleaning Systems Day Cleaning - this system utilizes cleaning during daytime or business hours. Detail and project cleaning are performed before or after working hours. Blended Cleaning – it combines the best features of zone cleaning and some of the principles of team cleaning to create flexible system. Trashing, dusting, and vacuuming only. Restroom and Project tasks are assigned to a specialist.

9 Cleaning Systems Collaborative Cleaning – in this system, both the custodian and tenants participate in selected cleaning tasks. Such as students putting chairs on desks or office personnel doing their own trashing. Skip Cleaning – this system prioritizes all cleaning tasks and may eliminate or reduce some cleaning activities altogether due to changing situations.
