8 Three Performance Levels:  Day 1  one personal narrative (tells a true story about something that has happened to you)  multiple choice revising and editing questions  Day 2  one expository piece in which students will explain their views upon a topic with supporting evidence to their claim  multiple choice revising and editing questions III- Advanced II- Satisfactory I- Unsatisfactory

9 Three Performance Levels: The Difference Between Revising & Editing III- Advanced II- Satisfactory I- Unsatisfactory Revising A – add sentences/words R - remove unneeded words/sentences M – move sentences or words S – substitute words/sentences Editing C – capitalization (names, titles, I, etc.) U - usage (subject/verb agreement) P – punctuation (commas, quotation marks, periods, etc.) S – spelling

10 Three Performance Levels:  Student compositions are read by two scorers.  Each scorer will give the students a score point of 1 – 4.  1 is a poor score (Very Limited)  4 is the best score (Accomplished!) 4 th Grade Compositions:
