Judah’s Sins 1. They treated father and mother with contempt—disobedience of authority trickles down from disobeying God to disobeying parents, to disobeying other authorities; 2. They did not care for the alien, the orphan, the widow; 3. They violated the Sabbath. Priest actually profaned sacred things in general and did not teach the distinction between holy and unholy things, clean and unclean things; 4. Violence—killing people within the city; 5. They participated in pagan ritual meals at cult centers on top of hills; 6. They violated sexual taboos, including incest; 7. They violated people’s right to justice by accepting bribes.
