3. MyITLab and Web 2. How to buy and get into MyITLab ◦Click on “Purchase” link on class web page ◦Use credit card to purchase four-year access code and ebooks for $60  Get access code at book store if you’re on financial aid ◦Click on “Use” link on class web page  Get Course ID from “Get Stuff” link… sign up for that Course ID, which will put you in OMIS 259 for this semester.  Log in by clicking on the “Student Login” on the left. ◦If you’re using your own computer, click on the link on our “Get Stuff” page to “tune up” your browser. If you cannot get your own computer to run MyITLab, you will need to use the Barsema Hall computer labs to complete your MyITLab assignments.

4. Make sure you have a valid MyITLab account and can get into MyITLab before next week (first assignment is due next week– see schedule)

5. MyITLab Assignments start soon and are given almost EVERY class day the remainder of the semester. SEE SCHEDULE ONLINE! There are four types of assignments for each chapter: ◦Skill-Based Training, 10% ◦Skill-Based Exam, 40% ◦Grader Project Homework, 10% ◦Grader Project Assessment, 40%

6. MyITLab Skill-Based Training: You can go through this UNLIMITED times, 5 tries per question. Basically, it’s a free “A”. It’s trying to teach you something.

7. MyITLab Skill-Based Training: They’re pretty obvious if you know the material already. WANT TO BLOW THEM OFF? You may. Then that 10% goes to the Skill-Based Exam (which then counts 50%) for that chapter.

8. MyITLab Skill-Based Exam: You can go through these TWO times, 5 tries per question. Each time you have 1 hour total. Your best score will be saved. ◦Computer crashed? Family emergency? That’s why we’re giving you two tries… pretend your first try is your ONLY try.

9. MyITLab Grader-Project Homework: You can go through UNLIMITED times. You should view these as training for the Grader- Project Assessment. These count 10%, and they’re pretty obvious if you know the material already. WANT TO BLOW THEM OFF? You may. Then that 10% goes to the Grader-Project Assessment (which then counts 50%) for that chapter.

10. MyITLab Grader-Project Assessment : You can go through these TWO times with no time limit. Your best score will be saved. ◦Computer crashed? Family emergency? That’s why we’re giving you two tries… pretend your first try is your ONLY try.

11. MyITLab We’re covering Chapters 1-6 in Excel and 1-4 in Access, so you have TEN (10) of each of these (except SBE which is not in Excel Chs 5 & 6), meaning 38 MyITLab assignments total. 12. MyITLab OPTIONALLY, you can listen to the Audio PowerPoint presentation. These are there to give you extra support if you would like. ◦Additionally, you can optionally view/complete Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or other Office training/exercises. These will not be graded.
