2. The Objective  To have a happier community of people living on the banks of the canal  To have a more hygienic and beautiful Buckingham Canal 2

The Idea  We don’t want to end up as a short-lived initiative by a few to clean up a canal as against being a well thought out initiative to sustainably modify it for the better using rigorous methods  We feel that it’s important that the people who are the main beneficiaries of this initiative must also be the main movers of it  We come in by providing the engineering and technical know-how and plan to motivate communities to take up the issue  Any success will be a great victory for these people as they can show what can be done by them if they set themselves to it. It will empower them 3

The two parts Engineering  Will require research of the current situation and future plans  Then, solutions must be proposed and evaluated  Our solution must not be expensive and also something that involves the local communities  After that, a solution is picked  Very Challenging Social Engineering  Research about the communities and people living around the canal  Identification of Strategy to sustainably motivate them  Introduction of the solution to them  Implementation of the solution  Very Challenging 4

5. Disclaimer  The Engineering solution is not ready and the methods to implement it are very challenging  But we are audacious enough to at least give it a try 5
