Karma and Re-incarnation To define Karma and Moksha To explain re-incarnation To evaluate if reincarnation is a good theory. If the soul is immortal (lives forever) what can happen to you after you die? Which would you prefer and why ? Re-incarnation: At death, only the body dies. The soul (atman) migrates into a new body. It could be human.. or animal… 1.Write out the definition of reincarnation. 2.Explain why you would/ would not like to be reincarnated.

What your soul will be born into depends on your ACTIONS (=Karma) in this life… Good karma, pays off with a happier life in the future. Bad karma binds the soul (atman) to the cycle of rebirth, leading to misfortune in this life and poor conditions in the next. Paying off all your karma, by continuous good actions, can free you from rebirth. This is called Moksha. Karma is like a law of the universe. There is no “judge” or God deciding what happens to you. You can’t avoid your karma. 1.Explain what karma is. 2.Give an example of good karma and bad karma. 3.Why should bad karma be avoided ? 4.How can you avoid being reborn in Hinduism? ***how could an animal accumulate good karma, to get rebirth as a human ?
