Who is the Economic Development Board (EDB)? EDB appointed by the Government in 2011 Advises the: Minister of Planning and the Economy Ministerial Council for the Economy (Chaired by the Prime Minister) Role: Reshaping the strategies for economic development by: - facilitating diversification - creating a diversified economy - creating long-term sustainable development

Vision, Mission, Values Vision - Developing a happier, healthier and wealthier Trinidad and Tobago for the long term Mission - leverage our natural resources and geographic position to develop our economy by creating added value technology driven industries and services Values - consider all of our people ‘inclusive society’ - sociological considerations equal to economic considerations - honesty and objectiveness - good governance - proud to be ‘Trinbagonian’

Board’s Mandate Play an advisory role at the National Innovation System and Policy Consult with communities and stakeholder advisory councils Identify new areas of investment Analyse the performance of emerging sectors in the economy and make recommendations Continuously monitor and assess the business environment Advise the Ministry of Planning and the Economy in the preparation of an Annual Performance Report
